? for Scoot hood owners...

Well, I've always wanted one, and I'm finally at the limit and on the verge of ordering...

In regards to the front scoop, is the tunnel in the path of the stock intercooler? Will I also HAVE to buy a front mount?

Is there anyone with a stock mount and the scoot hood out there?

I want to order it soon, and this is the deciding factor.

Thanks, Raj

Thanks Faizal. My buddy with an R1 also had to cut a slot out for the stock strut brace.
That is not what I wanted to hear at all.

Any others want to chime in?

The scoop is no where near the path of the IC, the IC starts right where the scoop starts, and you'd be routing air in an S shape to get it in front on the IC....

And I have / had a stock IC and it had no problem clearing the Hood, more like your friend I had to have the body shop cut a little bit to make the cousco strut tower brace clear... and I didn't use the trays since they seemed like they defeated the whole idea of venting the hot air from the engine out the top... but in florida, where terrential downpours are frequent in florida, I'd seriously concider putting them in, when it rained hard 1X and I forgot to cover it, I had troubble strating it the next day... untill it dried out....

Thanks Crosby,

Wow, now what? I have two owners telling me different things. Crosby seems to have had a stock intercooler and a replica Scoot, so his word is holding more weight currently.
Faizal, I am not doubting you, but just unsure if you tried putting your hood on with you stock IC.

Can a third party confirm one of these statements?
You all might think I am unknowledgable, but I have never really wanted a front mount, and prefer stock mounts.

I can see where maybe Faizal, might have some fitment issues, but unless the stock IC was taken out and put back incorrectly or the car was in an accident the IC wasn't my problem.... I did have a friend who tried to re-inforce the Center scoop with additional fibreglass, since there's a crack there where the two pieces meet, and that can cause the bodywork to be a little weak in that spot, and as I recall he built up the area to the point where it was hitting the IC or the airbox, can't remeber or maybe the crossover from the IC duct to the airbox... either way, he built it up too much and had some issues... sanded it a bit and made it fit, also helped with the way the hood sat a bit...

So, I take that back the IC can be an issue, but only if you have changed something from stock... also the IC can be pushed down a bit to give you that extra 1/4 " of room you need.... also my hood survived the rollover, so the fibreglass that RE uses is VERY STRONG.... some minor cracks under the hood, and some scratches on the top where it rubbed on the desert floor, other than that I plan on putting some fibreglass bondo on and some paint and slapping it on the '93...

Much clearer.
But alas, I just called the company to find that they won't be back untill the 29th. I just spoke to them yesterday and they didnt mention anything about it,

but, I have no walk-away power on this purchase.
Thank you Crosby, the next time this thread surfaces I will have the hood on and the fitment results.
I do highly believe in RE materials, but that is not the company I chose.

Final word..

The Scoot clears the stock IC by far. It actually sits near the front of the main intake on the hood, before the actual tunnel starts.
My rain guards look way too big to even try to place, and my stock hood prop can no longer stay in the stock location.

I will post pics in a new thread.

And something else! Is that correct ? The stock aluminium hood is to much lighter than the Scoot ( 18lb stock - 40 lb Scoot ).
