The ZO6 Vette's have it and it doesn't look too bad.

Ask "cover8" if he has any pictures. I believe he just installed a '99 Spec front bumper on his car with some mesh. IMO, it's a good idea as long as you don't chrome it (then spray some logo on it) or something silly like that.

The cf scoot hood on the red FD is unlatched.
Look at the hood pins and you'll see there is not hood pin post.

I got the first CF hood from Chuck, and the fitment is Fine on mine. Very functional, and I love it as well.

it's functional, air goes towards the back of the engine bay.

Why not rought some intake piping to the center vent for a ram air effect? Would work great if it didn't rain.
