SBG LED Taillight Conversion on USDM taillights?
Anybody have pics of this? I'm wondering if it looks about the same as the pics they have posted in their group buy or not. I know the USDM and JDM taillights look very different, thats why im wondering if i should buy a set of JDM to send them or just send them my USDM while im in Afghanistan. Let me know. Thanks
I really REALLY want those tails, but with the way its going there is no way Id send my money in to Theorie. I realize he says he's busy, but 1 set of tail lights per month to me says "too busy to be offering the service". Hopefully SBG takes over this group buy so I can purchase a set from them (Or a DIY conversion kit since I am fully capable of doing such a thing if I had the parts needed)
More like if you ARE in the group buy right now good luck

The only way another GB under SBG will happen is if Tom (Theorie) decides to "lease" the design to us. I've spoken with him about this multiple times but he was reluctant, despite the fact that it would benefit the customers interested, him, and us (everyone ends up happy), where at the moment, everyone involved is dissatisfied. You guys can contact him if you'd like... maybe he will change his mind, but at the moment we're at a standstill.

I would love to run a future GB on the tails, but ONLY if we are 100% in control of the GB and the physical builds here in our workshop in CA (as the current arrangement is not working for us either). The tails are a cool product, but the logistics of having a single individual do all of them has bogged it down to the point where people are frustrated and unwilling to move forward (despite their willingness to pay for them).

Precisely. Basically our role was to help Tom (who we are good friends with) get the tail light GB off the ground, and provide financial backing, and deal with the orders, and use the company shipping account. We made next to nothing off em... and really our involvement was to do Tom a favor. Unfortunately, that came back to bite us in the butt when production slowed to a crawl, with us left holding the bag as we were the interface between the patiently awaiting customers and the production side (Tom) of which we had little control. Moral of the story is, keep everything in house! (even if it's between friends).
There are no hard feelings... we just want to get the current GB finished. We would happily take over a future GB, but would need 100% control over every aspect of it (including building them), or it just wont work. So... that's basically the skinny on the tail lights.

No dude, I picked them up when I was driving through Al Fallujah in my HMMWV during OEF..... they're Haji Conversions
All jokes aside, not sure how to make it any more clear for you.

Tom and I had a long conversation about the possibility of SBG taking over production of them.... we have a few kinks to work out, but from talking yesterday it sounds like we will be able to produce them. It should be win win for everyone involved. Stay tuned

thats good to hear. it was a very stressful GB. and i was one of the early ones.
just an idea for SBG....the 99 conversion part of this mod is one of the things that takes a lot of time so a kit could be offered that includes only the led and lenses, and leave the actual modification to the buyer/installer....
Awesome! It would be even better if SBG and Theorie had seperate group buys, so that both parties are making conversions at the same time. No offense SBG, love your stuff, but I'm not exactly sure if you guys making them would be any faster than Theorie making them (where my headlights!?)

Note to self: delay shipping whitewezel's headlights for at least two weeks for low blow
