satellite radio in FD with Bose

I recently changed the audio setup in my FD. I have had XM sat radio for a couple years, but ran the signal from the little XM receiver (which fit nicely in the ashtrah in the console) thru a cassette with wire that plugged into the cassette player. I had the Bose radio with CD and cassette. Sound was OK, but not much volume or bass when listening to the sat radio. I screwed up the radio security code a couple weeks ago when I had to jump start the car and finally gave up trying to find someone (dealer no help) who could re-set it after it locked up. I installed a Kenwood touch screen with CD, USB and satellite-capable specs. I trashed the little XM receiver and bought the direct-connect receiver that uses the radio as the tuner. OMG what a difference! I have had all of the Bose speakers and amps rebuilt, so if I turn up the volume now, it is deafening. The sub-woofer part of the rear speakers feels like you are being hit with a bat every time there is a drum beat. Anyone else make this kind of change? Your results?
