Sanding car body for paint...Help(need advice)
ok i have a huge compressor and a DA i have 100 peices of 100Grit sand paper for the DA. my question is should i sand in dual actior mode or put in the pin for grind mode.. lemme know and advide is wanted..P.S i plan to go to bare metal
i finished my priming 3 months ago, to sand to bare metal a lot easier, go through it with paint stripper, then just wetsand with 120 grit to bare metal, acid wash it and prime it fast before it starts to rust

I don't know if I'd go down to bare metal personally. I've done it once before and it's a pain in the ***. Depending on circumstances, the rust can start very quickly, even after acid washing. I'd just sand over the existing paint and get it as close to the baked on primer below as possible while keeping it even, then put a heavy layer of good primer over it.
What kind of compressors and sprayers are you guys using for these projects? I'm looking to get a good compressor and spray my car myself. I'm not too picky about it being perfect, but because of the touchup paints that have been used over the years by previouse owners and such, it doesn't match in certain lights. I'd rather just sand 'er down and spray again.

Use dual action, you are going to have to use a fair bit of primer surfacer then wet sand that if you spray drirectly over 100grit scratches. You only need to strip all the paint if the car has been painted more than twice before this. Or if there is any areas with evidence of paint failure or deep scratches. In thoes areas sand out the effected area then feather the surrounding paint. That way you have a gradual transition from paint to no paint that can be filled with primer surfacer.
