i know just the keys cost $400, but for the whole system it would probably cost over a grand.

Call your local Lexus dealership and ask them for a quote

You can find these systems online for around $220-$250 if you search the term "car push button keyless entry"

I'd link directly to it but linking to a site that rhymes with "may" is not permitted. Would be an interesting project to undertake. Doubtful it is difficult with the entire system to wire up...hmmm.

keep in mind that our cars have a STEERING COLUMN LOCK that engages if you try to turn the wheel when the key isnt in the run position.

+1 for the tip on this. You can still bypass this but again, adds to the mod difficulty. For the rice that its worth, the S2K mod/gimmick is still best bet for the money IMO.

Push button looks good, and I like the red gauges, they all look good together but I wouldn't do the push button on my car, cause it's just one more thing that can go wrong in the future. Same reason why I eliminated clutch-push before start.

Yours still works ? somehow mine stopped working, when I put in the Nardi (Miata) steering wheel, so it can't be that hard to disable

It also seems like my key turning, and the whole ignition switch through the key is aging poorly, for a lot of people, and the whole click turn, click, no starter thing gets annoying, especially in a cold car

I think this writeup he said he tapped ign wire so he can retain key function.

I think that means so in case the push button fails, he can still start the car with key??

I hope evot23 comes in here and confirms this.

Yes, I can start the car with the key or the push button. To disable the push button, all I have to do is remove the relay underneath the dash.

I wanted to retain the key function for when the button got old. Lets face it, its a gimmick and gimmicks get old.

Good info here. Although, I think I want to go complete key-less entry/start/alarm. Obviously though I would have to remove the column lock.

Anyone think the column lock is really that useful to begin with for security? Obviously on a motorcycle its important. But for a car, would anyone actually try and steal it by breaking in, pushing the car somewhere (since you can now turn the steering wheel) and loading it on a flatbed?

It would seem if they where going through that much work, just getting a tow truck to tow it away would be even quicker. I wouldn't park my car anywhere that someone could push my car away because of no steering column lock without getting noticed in the first place.

I'm digging the system in the supra, nothing like oem quality systems. Its nice to actually see a proper wiring diagram for this modification

Love it with the Feed cluster.

Yes, plastic. The button, the housing, its all in plastic. The light in it isn't very bright either.

I'd say starting any 20B is an event. lol. If I ever went back to rotary, no doubt it would be 20B

Ah i see.

So to use the key, you have to remove relay FIRST?? Then key can be used?

Or its either or?

The km becomes a nonissue after a couple of days. Your brain will convert it automatically pretty quickly.

How so?

You still need your KEY.

Same with the s2k. You need the key to put in the ign, to ON, then you push the button.

Every car is susceptable to being stolen. I figue people would steal parts vs the whole car...that would be easier. Hell, stealing a camry would be more profitable than my car.
