For those with the RZ seats in their cars, how high to the seats sit in the car? These seats seem to sit very high in the car, feels much higher than stock, not sure if a helmet will clear and I'm not a tall person at 5'11". But w/o a headliner with the seats sitting in position, I have maybe 2" of total head clearance in my R2 and that is w/o a headliner. Do you think the Miata rails have taller underside brackets to mount to the seats? Anyone have an RZ seat rail out that can measure the height of the brackets? Mine measure out under 5" from the body of the car where the front rails mount to the top of the seat post that bolts to the bottom of the seat itself. I think this could be measured with the seats in the car if anyone has a chance to check that for me.

You can make the stock rails to work. I am working on some fixed rails for the rz seats. Shoot me a pm if you would like a pair.

I have a Miata. I -might- have those seats. I -might- want your rails.
You might want to PM me a price for your rails.

Question. Those of you with the RZ seats....how is your head clearance with a helmet on? I got some of my interior back in the car and just sat the seats in there on the wrong rails still....but I think I got it all figured out on how to mate the RZ rails I have with a stock set of rails with some fabrication and it should work....but....I don't have enough clearance between my head and the roof with a helmet on. I had the seats slid all the way back (these are the non-tilt rails) and with my helmet on...it's a no go. W/O the helmet I fit fine, but with the helmet I have to slouch my *** forward and sit gangsta to not be dragging my head against the roof (R2 model w/ no sunroof). Any advice? I'm not that tall at just under 6', so I would assume I should be fine.....don't recall slouching with my helmet on in stock RX7 seats, but that's been some time ago.

You can remove the lower seat coushin to gain some more head clearance for when you need to wear a helmet.
