No I don't know, but it idea sounds like pretty cool.

I'm sure you could engineer something to make them fit if they didn't.

It's quite possible that Mazda changed the seat rails again with the RX-8. The FD and FC seat rails are VERY different, but the FC and FB/SA actually share identical seal rails.

The seats aren't super wide, and would quite likely fit. You'd probably want to do something about the side air bag, though - like remove it or something . Actually mounting the seats to the floor of the FD would probably be a chore if the rails were substantially different. I've fabbed up seat rails for aftermarket seats before, and it's far from fun. Especially when you consider that failure of the seat rail could lead to injury or death.

I wonder if you could purchase RX8 Seat rails and modify them to fit the floor pan of the FD.

 

They're too wide and won't fit AFAIK.

 

what he said. sit in fd seats then sit in rx8 seats. the fd ones imo are way nicer and feal and hold you better.

Yeah you'll definetly want to consider that, good point Dale.

 

G-friend has an RX8 while I have an FD, the FD just has so much better seats. I feel like the seats in the 8 just don't hold me in as well.
