Nice or Rice? New tail lights!

I was looking for FD images and stumbled on to this picture.

On this page.

If you about 1/2 way down they have a bunch of shots. Looks kind of neat, anyone seen these before?

maybe if they filled the whole circle with LEDs rather than leaving the center empty.

I think they look horrible. What is this fixation with ruining the looks of the FD? I don't get it.

Damn skippy.

The stock tails look fine as is. Or, at the most, the 99 upgrade (or poor man's 99 upgrade).

So long as they look the same when the lights are out, i.e: totally blacked out... I actually like them. It just looks like what the car would have been manufactured with today, if it were a $50k model... aren't most high-end models using led's to flesh-out whatever light shape they have, ala Z8?

I don't think it changes the look of the car really at all... not in the way that altezzas, clear rear lenses, or (worst of all) painting the tail-lights body color which i've never understood.

That's what i was thinking, but i'd still rather have the 99 spec tail lights.

Leds Have Almost 0 resistance compared to fillament bulbs, this causes your turn signal to behave like on Crack, and unless you add an extra resistor to the lights is unavoidable... (Just one of the issues not discussed here)
