No, they won't fit. Next time, please use the search function, this has been asked many times.

Damn you guys are closed minded! If they can be modified to fit the first gen, maybe the same thing can be done for the Fd as well.

Edit: I just went out and measured the seat base widths of my Fd and my 1st gen and they have the same base width. Whoever said that they wouldn't fit was probably to lazy to do the fabrication work to make them fit.

There is a lot more to the seat fitting than just the base width....

You'll also notice that despite a shitload of work of removing the brackets and welding new ones on, the seats still sit a couple of inches higher, which would be very undesirable in an FD.

You'll ALSO notice that it looks like from the pictures in that thread that you'll have to open the door just to be able to adjust the seat. I guess some people call that "fitting", but I don't.

I see no problems with that pic and adjust-ability. Also a couple inches higher may be a problem for some but maybe not for everyone. Anyways don't you think it's a little premature to claim that the seats "don't" fit without someone at least putting forward enough effort in trying to make them fit? To me that's like someone trying to put in a 20b with the stock subframe and claiming it wont fit. We all know that it will fit with the right modifications. That's all I'm saying! Also aren't you the one that can't stand the spread of misinformation?

I'll tell you what, you post a link to a write-up of someone installing these in an FD with all the required modifications and limitations of use and I'll apologize and admit I was wrong. The RX-8 has been out for a while now and not a single person on this forum has successfully fitted RX-8 seats in an FD, AFAIK.

Most people willing and able to do modifications of the level posted in the FB thread above don't start threads asking if they'll fit.

I've sat in the RX-8 seats and they are wider than most aftermarket seats, many of which DO NOT fit in an FD.
