no offense, but do you even own a FD RX-7? cause i think if you did, i'd assume you like the lines of a FD better then the lines of a S2000. the above picture is pretty much the FD sans a roof, thats why i wouldnt mind owning it. i think the S2000 is one of the best looking convertibles in production (minus the supercars), so you shouldnt be offended if you own one. but that's just my opinion. either way, it was a funny and creative post.

No ****! I didn't know you could pay to keep the plates. I wish I had done that then. So were you on Foster? I was on Kadena. Lucky you though, shipping a car back, haha. I didn't even feel like going through the mess, so I never bought a car to hook up over there. Looks good though.

hahah, no i don't own either. like i said, im poor. but i love both the FD and the s2000.

you're absolutely right though... i think a soft top convertible s2000 looks pretty shitty (with top up)

i think hardtop, though, one of the best looking cars ever. especially witha mugen hardtop, or one of the newer mooncraft ones,, very pricey though.

but yeah, that is a pretty sick vert FD. just was responding cuz i love s2000s. not trying to start a flame war. hahah.

I kinda like the vert too. To me it looks vaguely Jaguarish in that picture. Gotta do something about those door handles though.

it's funny that you say that, cause something about it reminded me of a Jaguar, as well. i cant figure out exactly what it is?

JDM Night.Life- dont worry about it, its all in good fun. I love the S2000, but i love the RX-7 a lot more. if i owned an S2k, id throw a hard top on it immediatly, which would destroy the idea of owning a convertible, but thats how it looks the best.

So you're here, the FD is still there, and you're still working on it? Haha. That's awesome. So I guess you have someone to take care of the legwork over there huh? I thought I'd have to be finished with all that before I left the island...now it's all becoming clear. Well if I ever make it back over there... That FD wouldn't happen to be a Spirit R would it? Haha.

i think that RX-F50 has a Subaru Pleides knock off sticker on the rear window as well.
The RX-7 should never be the "Poor Man's Ferrari." that's just too degrading. The Ferrari's like the Rich Man's RX-7. you know, minus the carbon fiber, paddle shifting, and whatnot.

I've actually ridden in this car, and I can tell you that in person, it looks great.

It does, however, ride like a banana... no chassis rigidity.

Agreed.

Oh I was thinking you only had to get it crash tested if it was a series 6 or up, because they never made it to our shores. Damn, that sucks. Funny you mention that though, there were some guys in this forum talking about getting the money together to get a Jspec FD crash tested so we could start bringing them over legally. I'm sure if you got up with those people we could pool the money together as a club and you wouldn't have to come out of pocket for all of it yourself. I'll see if I can find the thread. And I agree, Japanese women are great. My friend Miwa got some RX-7 Zippo lighters and some other memorabilia for me, and my USD/Yen calculations failed me because I thought the lighters were about $9 a piece, and in fact they were $90, haha, and I got 5 of them so she basically sent me $500 worth of stuff and when I realized I messed up she was like "well don't worry about paying me back". ???, hell no, I'm paying her back, that just wouldn't be right. But I see where you're coming from, they're great people.
