X series is very cheap
DSD series with Warn feature about 2.5x in cost. still way cheaper than dam Defi's.

When I bought my 87 t2, it came with a brand new prosport boost gauge still in the box. I opened teh box looked at it and laughed at the quality. I immediately ordered a defi blue racer boost gauge, and couldn't be happier. I looked into all the options and defi is best hands down. The boost gauge was the most expensive so now that I got that out of the way I found that the rest seemed to match up to the top of the line autometer electric gauge prices, except way cooler because everyone has autometers including gay domestics. Psssssst, when the gauge first started up the needle was at 0 . I did alot of thinking on which to go with and just the rarity and never seeing people have these gauges and the quality of them is what made me just dive in.
I was convinced on the prosports for a second though guys. At the beginning of the thread I was like hot damn time to sell my single defi boost gauge and buy a full line up. Buuuuut on second thought i'll stick with the accuracy, better then losing a motor if you really think about it.

FWIW: My water temp Defi D-gauge is still working great after ~5 years of use. It works just like the day I bought it. I also have an electric HKS boost gauge thats close to 10 years old, if not slightly older? and its barely starting to show signs of age.
Have you guys looked at VDO gauges before? Theyre cheap and accurate but theyre not the most exciting gauges visually. VDO gauges can be found on Porsches, BMWs, Ferrari, Lamborghini and other nice cars straight from the factory (my BMWs gauge cluster is made by VDO). These gauges are another option for someone on a budget and they have a solid reputation to back them up.

battery drain issue
Cant read my premium series ( set on amber )during the day.
Its difficult without sunglasses, guage doesnt even look turned on when wearing sun glasses.
Started searching about visibility of premium series during the day, & found this
http://www.3si.org/forum/f1/phw-pros...attery-394423/
So I probably solved the battery always dyeing issue.
Amber light matches FD dash nicely though.
Am going to try the white light for daytime , or maybe try the included sun shades.
For the drain problem ???
Could wire them ignition on only, but will lose the alarm function & usually have the oil pres muted so it wont alarm with ign on & engine not running.

Anyway, the lesser number that have these the better for me, makes them more unique.

I have no doubts they are awesome gauges as far as quality goes, but having a that tiny *** square OLED screen inside a round 52mm (or even 60mm) gauge, just doesn't do it for me at all. I'm looking for something that matches stock gauges and is accurate. Stri gauges seem to fit the bill.

Post up some pics of the Stri gauges if you go that route. Would love to see them. I'd say the "X Line" comes the closest to matching the stockers.

Yeah X-line is what I'm leaning towards. I have a deep hatred for smoke lens gauges. I suppose I would have to drive a car with them in both day/night to see what your talking about. From the pictures I'm not very interested, only slightly. Dammit I'm researching them. You persuasive ***!

You can do a lot of cool things though with the PLX gauges. If there car was here instead of Kilo Racing in Orlando, I'd take a video of the gauges for you.

I am playing with the idea of getting just one of the PLX gauges and It's for one reason. To cut down on gauge clutter. Right now i have a triple pillar pod filled with unmatched gauges.
my plan is to use mostly STRI gauge and possibly one PLX, i'm going to gut the water temp and oil pressure gauges from the cluster (since they dont work >_>) and use possibly the PLX and for sure the STRI gauges to make a proper working more functional cluster that eliminates the need to have gauges invading my entire interior.

For the people interested, I purchased a boost, water temp, oil temp, oil pressure, and fuel pressure gauge all from Prosport and I'm not sure if there is something cheap about the oil sensors because both my oil temp and oil pressure gauges act up while the others are operating fine. Just fyi
Otherwise for the price I have no complaints and have logged 6 - 7 months with roughly 7,000 miles on them and they still operate flawlessly, not including the 2 oil gauges which have since been removed. I may purchase new sensors to see if maybe the techs were unnecessarily rough when reinstalling the sensors when my new engine was dropped in.
Also fyi, I tested the prosport elec. boost gauge along side a greddy elec boost gauge off the same uim nipple to see if there was an variances between there readings and both were found to be exactly the same. Definitely no complaints after passing that test.

Since my last post, all the gauges except my water temp gauge has failed for no reason. I checked and re-did all the wiring, relays, new sensors, and still the gauge needles move without reason. I would no longer recommend the standard Prosport gauge line but maybe the premium line is ok?
