respraying my engine bay, need paint
where's a good place to get paint for respraying the engine bay?
i was looking at house of kolor, but it's confusing, i want a clear coat that will take some heat/oil/gas abuse
also, my car is brilliant black, what's a good color match?
anyone?

for a engine compartment go with a single stage
paint like DuPont Imron, or Imron 5000, it will hold up the best, those BC/CC paints in a engine compartment can sometimes be tricky to get them to adhere properly and hold up over time.
No need for House of Kolor, save your money.

honestly, for black, under the hood, you wont notice
Not sure if you can buy DuPont online, try a local body shop supply, it may be better then paying hazmat shipping anyhow.
If using Imron, I would go for 535U jet black, its considered a black tint, but its a nice black, normal black Imron is 99U black, but it tends to look a bit brown in the sun, not like you have to worr about sunlight under the hood. It will lay down a better then the 5000.
Imron 5000 is high solids, one cross coat and your done, its good **** and may be a bit easier for you to spray, its thick and tends to be harder to run, not really sure of the color codes for black Imron 5000, just ask your local body supply shop.
