replacing front windshield

I recently had a tiny crack grow into a huge one. I can replace it at work if I need too but my question is how much on average does it cost for an FD to have an outside place do it and is there anything I would need to know in advance when replacing it. I'll get a new windshield molding too I think.......Any experiences would be great - Thanks!

Shop around - I had quotes from $250 to $900.00 to do it in my driveway!

My insurance company **** their pants.....I got the $250 job, OEM, (that's the only one available), no new gasket on the outside but as long as it's still pliable it should work fine, since the caulk they use it what really seals it.

Mine ran $250 installed - brand new windshield. Well worth it, even though I had several used ones sitting around.
