repaint my fd..

How much would it cost to repaint the WHOLE thing to the factory color red? Including taking out the engine, seats, etc

Is it nessary to take out interior to paint it?

Go to a good body shop and get a quote. You'll receive a wide range of answers here, depending on how much people had painted, how good of quality of a job, and the place they are located.

factory red with two white stripes with triple clear was 6200. But like everyone has said, everything is gonna vary from shop to shop, paint to paint...etc.

Yeah, Maaco and another place by my house called Earl Schieb or something like that, paints the whole car for $400 or something like that. You do pay for what you get though, don't expect it to be high quality.

Oh, that's just for the outside and nothing interior or engine painting.

and have your insurance go sky rocket ^ Not to mention the damage being recorded on the cars history. I guess it would be worth it to have a fresh painted FD.

usually the shop will charge about 3 - 4 for the whole car.. including sanding, primer, paint and clear coat. It is not nessasary to paint the engine bay..... unless you want to change the entire car color .... ^.^

since you want the WHOLE car painted then yes, itll need to be removed but its not necessary to get your car painted..but for majority, usually we paint just the jams..door jams etc. (anywhere your eyes can see). 3500 starting is most likely here in cali.pm me if you need a place

Hail is a COMP claim, not Collision, therefore with some insurance companies it doesnt raise the rates. Just like hitting a deer. My wife is my insurance agent, I know how these things work

Decide exactly WHAT you want done and shop around. If your staying with the original color, unless there is a reason for it, door jam and under hatch areas are not critical. Personally I would prefer to have them done because it avoids a mask edge or dry areas but it will cost a bit more. Ask questions. All trim, side markers, moldings, handles, lights, windshield and window trim, rubber etc. should come off. The less that is masked around, the better. Of course this requires more labor hours, and more $$. You decide what it's worth. Get references from a picky neighbor or relative.
For the love of God...STAY AWAY FROM MACCO OR EARL SCHEIB!!!

It's pointless to answer this question. It's demographics, it'll cost more in other parts of the country than in others. Either way, one thing will hold true, you get what you pay for.

Ask some local enthusiasts who painted their cars. Find a reputable shop and have them do an estimate.
