Removing old sound deadening to put new in?
I have a "93 touring. Interior is completely apart right now and I'm going to be working on sound deadening/proofing. My goals are going to be "modern" touring. I'm not too concerned about weight. I'd like to appreciate some music and not listen to the road as much. I'll be looking to add materials per the recommendations here: https://www.sounddeadenershowdown.com/. A little sad they've shut down in the midst of my plans, but the info here is sound I think. I'm curious on thoughts on their techniques, but my main query is what to do about the factory sound deadening. Considering I want to add in sound deadening, does it make sense to remove the factory stuff? Most of it is pretty well stuck on, which is fine. Is it worth taking it out just to put more in?
Thanks
Greg
Thanks

Unless the thickness of the factory sound deadening materials plus whatever stuff you add on top of it creates physical interference issues when its time to re-assemble the interior, I'd just leave the factory sound insulation alone. Since you said you don't care about the weight, that's a non-issue.
