?? on removing interior piece

can anybody tell me how to remove the plastic peice that the clitate controller fit in?? Im in the process of fixing my dimmer and Im scared of braking something. The piece comes off fairly easy intill its gets to the dash. If anybody has ever hade any problems with there dimmer and hade to replace it themselves can you please post your experiences and cost for the dimmer??
Also, instead of replacing the dimmer can I bypass it?? The wires that go in, can I just connect those to the ones that come out?? Please I need all the help I can. Im broke and cant afford to pay a shop to fix it. Thanks for any respose.

ok, I just took a quick look over every thing. I was currently having problems out of my dash lights(there light up sometimes)(just a little to see them, and now they dont work at all). I was thinking it was the dimmer but now im not. My boost guage it wired to the ashtry light(the boost guage doesnt light up either). The guage doesnt go through the dimmer, obviously. Is there any hidden fuses that i could check over. This seems that it going to be very exspensive to fix.

My dash lights are very dim too, and the dimmer doesn't seem to help. I'm curious about this question as well.
