I just bought a FD and it needs the headlight covers repainted. What are your opinions of a red car with black headlight covers? Here is a pic of the car i bought with black headlight covers photoshoped in.

It would look like ***. If I saw that, I would pretty much think you went to the junkyard for two new headlight covers. Seriously.

 

Sort of a faux sleek light look eh? ....

i've got it:
Use the black covers then get some of those headlight decals like they use on pro-stock drag cars and such! Everyone will think you've got $1400.00 sleeklights!

 

I was just thinking of ways to save money because the one headlight cover it has is black and the one I got from the Mazda dealer is unpainted. I don't really think paint is a place deserving of money right now....

The original covers were stolen.

Well you stated that one is unpainted. So it would have to be painted black to match the other one right? In reality I don't think there would be much of a price difference in painting one balck V.S. painting both red. So might as well go for both.

 

Even getting both covers painted at Maaco would be better than the black deal.....that sucks that they were stolen BTW. *#$#@ vandals

 

yea i am gonna get them painted red. get this, the plastic headlight covers for fds cost 72 dolla from the dealer!!

 

Its not that expensive afterall, a paint shop in my area said it would do it for around $80.

 

Find another dealer! I just ordered a replacement driver's side cover from Mazdaformance
for $49. I almost never use my local dealer for anything anymore.
