ive got an FD and want red seats. ive been talking to a local interior shop and i think im ready to bite the bullet, but i need to decide on the color and texture of the leather (he claims they can get nearly anything... even leather directly from car manufactures ie BMW but its much more pricey. anyway i need some detailed pics of red seats in various cars, but i havent been having much luck so i thought id turn to my rotary buds for some help . i saw a newish (dont know the year) M3 that had red seats that looked awesome. saw some newer mercedes with red leather as well that also looked good. if anyone has DETAILED pics please post them up. also if youve got red seats in your FD lets see them!! im not too fond of the 93 red color as it looks to burgundy for my tastes. anyway, leter rip!

What's the exterior of the car? I'm thinking about red as well, but with MB, i'm worried it will look like the christmas express.

Was it the RZ or Spirt R that had the stock seats in red leather ?

Did you check the Leather seat covers in the GB section ? Just like OEM and they have colors and textures to chose from.

 

Paint it anything but MB and call it a day

 

wait, you know FDs came stock with red leather seats, right? You can probably just get the leatherseats.com covers that are specifically made for the FD. I hear they fit perfect, but your hands will be blistered after the install.

 

yeah but im afraid theyll be too maroon. all of hte pics ive seen of the stock seats are a darker shade of red

 

thats the same color as the FD seats.

You can order whatever color you want from leatherseats.com so it shouldnt be a problem.

 

well currently its silver with a white hood, and a charred empty engine compartment . its a project car for a 20b that im installing... but i dont have much time so while i have all the parts i havent made much progress. anyway the car is going to be repainted in the 99 blue IBM. my running FD is montego blue, and i think (as long as you have all black interior) red seats would work just fine with MB... i actually love the color, but many on here dont seem to share my oppinion

 

Yah, i love MB now. When i bought my FD, i was dissapointed that the only good one i could find was MB, but it's really grown on me, and many others compliment the car.

We are about to start a group buy on here, and that color is called "Imola Red" from BMW. We use a color called "Carmine Red", which is the same color as Imola Red, and it also is the same color as the Red FD seats:

As soon as we get approval/pay for the GB we will start it. Probably by the end of the week something should be up! Expect to save around $80-$100 off of retail.
