RE 99 spec plateless fitment issue

There's a big gap between the headlights and hood

I was hoping someone who already went thru installing a RE bumper could give a little advice. Also, is the aluminum piece that goes btw the bumper and the frame supposed to be installed with the replica bumpers?

yes you put the piece on the new replica bumper... as far as the gap you have to work it to fit... alot of pulling it back on and off to make it fit... I used the stock rebar so I trimed as I went...also do not tighten any thing down until you get it adjusted to how you like... once it is in place the frame support for the bumper has holes that is wide side to side to adjust fitment... you will need to modify this hole so that the screw that fits it it can slide upwards to help feel the gap.... do you follow me... it is hard to explain... make the hole look like a T and the support will slide to the post of the T and then tighten it down...this will help close the gap...do not be afraid to work the bumper it will flex... do this with the head light covers off... once the bumper is installed then make the adjustments for the headliught covers to sit right.... hope that helps...good luck
