Rain Guard for Vent Openings in Hood
Hey, does anyone have any suggestions on how to make a good rain guard for vent openings on a Knightsport hood? This person did a good job: http://www.negative-camber.org/crispyrx7/final.htm How did he drill holes into the hood w/out drilling to the other side? Or can you just buy the rain guards somewhere? Please lemme know. It rains much in FL. thx.

This has been bugging me for a while, so maybe someone can set me straight. How do rainguards like that work? They look like clear plexiglass that is fastened to the underside of the vent. Unless I'm missing something, that should improve cooling approximately as much as...no vents at all??? I don't get it.

You understand perfectly. When the rain guards are in, the hood is NOT vented anymore. If you live in California, that seems ok because you pretty much know it's not going to rain from May to October. Otherwise, they pretty much seem like a pain in the *** to me.

Well that's no good! Here in South Florida, when its nice and hot and some underhood temp relief would be most welcome...its pretty much guaranteed to rain frequently.
I wonder how bad rain really is in these cases however. A friend has the Mazdaspeed vented hood with the dual intercooler vents and he doesn't seem to have a problem with rain. I don't know how much rain it sees however...
