Racing Seats/Harness's?

HEy, im thinking about getting some nice sparcos or somthing for some interior work on my 93'.

However i am a fairly tall man (but can sit in the stock confiruguration easy), and i wondered if any aftermarket seats acctual put me closer to the ground so id have more head room... anyone have suggestions on which seats/harness's are better for taller guys, i am pretty thin so sideways shouldnt be a prob.

Just about any aftermarket seats will put you significantly closer to the ground. I had Kirkey seats in my FD, but they are a little extreme, nothing but a small piece of aluminum and some padding separating me from the floor board. I'm 6'5" and they gave me enough head room to wear a helmet and still have several inches of clearance. I think you'll have more room with any settup you choose, but its definitely a must have mod for us tall guys.

Corbeaus, $350 a piece.....but they aren't lower to the ground than stock, they are taller.....maybe with a fixed bracket they would be lower

Seats in Japan

When I was in Japan, "BRIDE" was the name I saw most often, at least in the 3rd generation RX7's.

I have looked at the Corbeau's, but was not sold on the build quality. Things may have changed, that was 2 or 3 years ago.

Sparco and Recaro are well known brands, though, they can be expensive.

Keep in mind that you will want to retain the stock seat belts for street driving. harnesses are not legal for street use, and when improperly worn, are extreamly dangerous.

Sparco manufactures a model or two that have virtually no cushion in the bottom thereby lowering your assets as much as possible. To spot them just look in the pics and they are the ones with the non-skid material in the seat bottom.

how are the "extremly dangerous"? i was under the impression that they were meant to be better than the normal seatbelts... ? err.?

i dont realy plan on taking it to the autocross, i just thought it would be pretty damn pimp to slap some seats/harness's in there and rice the interior out a lil bit,

i did not know they are illegal, are they ilegal in all states...?

i know i have seen bunch of people with them on out in the street =/

4 point harnesses have to be bolted in the stock location and a roll bar to be safe. also they have to be mounted at an angle to the back of the seat, its about 45 degrees i think.

Don't buy the M2 one - it fits terrible. Get the Rotary Extreme one.
