Quick Antenna Problem

I noticed my antenna wasn't engaging when I turned on the stereo. I opened up the antenna assembly and noticed the antenna mast cord (ribbed plastic) was broken. I replaced that and I figured that would sovle the problem. But, it didn't. The circuit board on the assembly was tested and everything is good. Any other ideas? Could the large connector to the head unit have slipped off? I'm gonna check that later. What else could it be?
