I almost have my system complete on my FD all I need is to buy an amp so I can install a 10" woofer.

Currently this is my set up. As a head unit I have an ALPINE CDA-7894, for the front I have polk component speakers (the ones with the cross-overs) for the rear I have two kewwood 5x7 3-way speakers. For a sub I'm using the bose acoustic wave. The center channel speaker is currently off. I am also not running amp except for the one that comes with the bose.

Right now it sounds pretty good but I feel that my front and rear speakers (kenwoods) need and amp. Obviously when I hook up the 10" that gonna need an amp.

Question what amp (or amps) can I get so I can hook up my future (in about a week) set up and how would you run the set up? That is the center channel, 2 front & 2 rear speakers, the bose acoustic wave (keep in mind that this one has an amp already), and my 10" subwoofer.

The stereo has several outputs 2 regular front and rear outputs, 2 outputs for amplified front and rear (obviously when you have an amp) and last a subwoofer output.

One thing I was wondering can all those outputs be connected at once? I'm asking this cuz the center channel is not going to have an amp while all the others will.

Any input will be greatly appreciated.

 

First I would suggest ditching the center channel and BOSE bass snake. If you are looking for a good simple setup then get a 5 channel amp. You can power your front, rear, and sub all from this one amp. A setup like this will make you forget all about that center channel and a good 10" in the proper box will make you laugh at the BOSE bass joke. Let me know what you think and then I will recommend some amps.

 

Umm, that's a good way, the only thing I would do differently, is get a seperate 1channel amp for the sub, and then get an ok, maybe like 200watt rms amp for the front and rear speakers, I like this setup better, and is sometimes cheaper.

I noticed that al lot of people don't really care for the bose. I actually like the bose, I think it brings good base tones. Keep in mind that I am not using it as a BOOM BOX. I like it for suround sound quality, but for the extra kick I need a 10".

Ditch the center channel? I thought that a good center channel really helps in bringing in all of the sounds.

Everybody is going to tell you the same thing, ditch that Bose crap. If you think it sounds good, you probably haven't really heard good sound. No offense ... and the center channel is a waste. Unless you have a dedicated center channel processor it just silly.

Suggesting amps requires a lot of variables. What sub are you using. How loud do you listen to your music. How much space are you willing to give to amps. How much do you want to spend? Give us more info and then we can suggest amps.

Every Bose product I have ever seen is inferior in performance to cheaper competitor's products. Now marketing and advertising; that's a different story.

 

I would go with the JL Audio 300/4 amp for your kenwoods. Friend of mine has that amp pushing his MB Quarts it sounds hott. But he also has over 3000 in his system with no sub. Bose suck for cars. I would suggest selling that and getting either a JL Audio W7 or a Rockfor Fosgate HE2 or HX2. But we are talking bout around 500 for the sub. Depends on how much money you want to spend.

 

i can get a jl audio 10w7 for about $400.....
