The shift red is a color by yamaha and is called "lava red"; PPG makes it.

The supra pictures in this thread are from this guy, here is his build thread. http://www.supraforums.com/forum/sho...=517694&page=5. In one of the posts i asked him the color code and I quote " it is a ppg color, it is called lava red". So that is direct from the source. What was the deal with rosso metis, why was it more money? I am leaning towards the Rosso Metis now.

The parts from Rx7 Boutique I am able to source, thus the source times posted below each item. My current inventory consists of Re-Amemiya Titanium exhaust, HKS Elbow, Spirit-R Steering wheel, 99 Tach, feed downpipe, defi bf gauges with control link and a mazdaspeed wing. If you buy more then one item, you get a 10% discount.

hey i gotta say i appreciate the time you take into considering the mods on your car, you have exceptional taste and your FD will be top tier when its done. i have to disagree with the 19 inch wheels and body kit coming before redoing your engine bay and tossing the automatic transmission... but to each their own. if you end up at UCLA ill see ya around i live just south of the school, well be twins i have a yellow one and im planning on getting a feed type IIr bumper

Thanks for the kind words! I think it was the last page, but I actually decided on 18" bbs lm instead of the 19's.

mini update: I ordered and paid for the rotary extreme n1 hood and re-amemiya mirrors. That means the body of the car is done. Just need the 18" bbs lms and suspension to finish the exterior. On that note, I have to push paint back to the end of August, I got an internship for global corporate investment banking in Atlanta from June 8th to August 21st. I have a full schedule till June 8th studying for the LSAT, and after that I leave straight to ATL, then school starts the 24th. The problem is my painter is in Orlando, and I need my car in Atlanta. So my car will go to paint as soon as I get back from Atlanta - the end of August.

Peek-a-boo.

Throwing another color into the mix:
yamaha 07 candy red

When the sun hits it

Darker then shift red, not as much orange tone. The second and third picture is EXACTLY the color I am looking for.

Re-Amemiya Super Pro Mirrors. Only set in the US I believe. Should be here next week, driving with no mirrors is not fun.

That is what, your third snide remark in this thread? If you have a problem with my car or me, even though I have no idea who you are, stay out of this thread. I always appreciate constructive input, even if its negative, but your sarcastic attitude towards me is unwarranted.

Pure...I'm lovin' the thread. It's always nice to see documentation of a full project. Can't wait to see what the ride looks like when or IF (lol) you're done with it. I say "if" because IMO none of us really can stop and say we're finished...I think we're all addicted!

Re 19" Wheel Bashing: It seems like most people are bashing on 19" rims simply from what they have seen in pictures. I happen to own custom 19" wheels and they look fantastic! Obviously they're not ideal for all set-ups, but if you're simply cruising or for shows they can not be beat. For everything else...buy a set of 17" or 18" wheels and have the best of both worlds

Nice, I was going to get those but opted not, since most of all side mirrors like that dont work very well for a LHD car, nice choice though....

I like that Yamaha Candy Red.

I've seen Shift Red in person and I love it, and I don't think it looks as pink as some of these pics make it out to be...

But that Candy Red is a definite win!!

Do it!

Damn almost forgot about this thread. Your car will look amazing brian.

And i would also like to wish you luck on your internship. You should be making CAKE with your job position. I know of a person whos in investment banking and he has 2 ferraris paid for, no monthly payment crap lol But he has an MBA.

Even though though, starting salary is good.

Thanks for the kind words! Hope you are enjoying your new lights, I kind of miss them :/. I honestly dont think it will ever be finished, seems when ever I fix one thing, two more things break. At the moment, I am going to finish up the exterior and interior, throw in a 5 speed and might sell it to get a black viper gts. This depends on how much I can get for my car (I might take it down to Miami and drive around south beach with a for sale sign) and how Rx7 Boutique does in the next coming month. Viper prices have been getting hit hard and I can pick up a decent one for about 30k.

I couldnt agree more with you on the 19s, people seem to be pretty divided about them. Ultimately I decided on 18s because I think with the car extremely low 19s will just be too big and tear up my fenders.

Thanks for the kind words, just finished with finals and now off to studying for the LSAT. I will probably head over to the Yamaha dealer to check out the color in first person before I finalize on that color.

Thanks! I have been driving around with the Ganador mirrors for the past two years, so I am used to not being able to use my passenger side mirror. When I install them I will let you know if the passenger mirror is usable.

Thanks! Red really shows the lines of the FD.

Ha, Candy Red is definitely on the top of my list. I have a feeling it is going to be quite expensive since it is a triple layer, but with this car, what isnt expensive?

I have been looking at that color, their is a really nice blue that comes on the sc430. The red is called Matador red and is one I have been debating about. Just looks a bit to pinkish in the sunlight, although some pictures it looks fine. I will need to take a better look in person.

Appreciate the kind words Rob! This is definitely taking A LOT longer then I had originally planned, I was looking to be done at the end of MARCH at the latest, lol. Will see how the internship goes, I will be in the Global Corporate Investment Banking division. Right now I am taking the LSAT, assuming I do good I will probably end up going to law school (hopefully in CA). Unfortunately, I am a poor standardized test taker, despite have an outstanding GPA and a well established resume the LSAT score is 75% of the admission process. So, if I score poorly, I hope I can capitalize on my opportunity in the IB world.

Couple of updates.
1. Ordered spirit-r shift ****
2. ad9 hood shipped from Cali on saturday, should be here this week.
3. Re-amemiya mirrors came in today, they look FANTASTIC. Did not know you need the bases to install these so I just bought a set from another forum member. Once those arrive I can install them. The pictures do NOT do them justice, they are exactly what I wanted, subtle yet slightly aggressive. I could not be happier. Plus they are powered, which will be a nice change from my gandor mirrors. Will post an update when I receive the bases and install them.

You will have to see them on the car, they dont look right on the ground. Here is a picture of them compared to stock, only the top left is my mirror, the 3 other pictures are stock.

the image below solidified my purchase.

Also thinking about picking up these Zeal function x's, maybe.
