Prop for Carbon Hood

I've been searching for a hood prop for a Carbon Hood. I keep reading that they "are rated for the OEM hood weight".
Does anyone have any suggestions on a good, nice looking hood prop specifically for Carbon Hoods, or does the type of hood even matter?
AND, a center prop or two sided struts preferred so the hood doesn't sit twisted with only one side propped open

The hood damper type thingies need to be different for stock hood compared to lightweight aftermarket hood:

If the hoods are the same weight, it's not an issue but a lot of the carbon hoods are lighter and flimsier and the force of the struts will fatigue and crack them

A hood prop is just a rod like the factory rod that props the hood up. You can use the factory hood prop rod thingy.

This is what I keep running into, made for stock weight hood. My CF is definitely lighter and flimsier. A prop on one side only makes it twist.
That's why I was wondering if they make any specifically for CF Hoods.

To combat the twistyness of the carbon hoods while using the stock prop, we just put them in the hood latch when we prop the hood instead of using the spot on the one side. Its more for display purposes than actual work but it serves about the same purpose depending on what you're doing. With the seibon and vis hoods we noticed if you leave them propped on the one side they will change shape and warp themselves. They will ALWAYS go back to their original shape eventually though.

The hood struts don't work with the carbon hoods, they will make them bulge and just the same as gracer said, over time it will fatigue the hood.

Mine is Seibon. Good to know, guess I'll just remove the hood each time I work on the engine. PITA, but better than a twisted or bulging hood.

You don't have to go that far. It takes about a day or so of it being propped up for it change shape and then it takes a couple days for it to relax back to its original shape once its closed.

They make lower pressure struts for carbon hoods. Just get those.

Although, be cautious. I have a carbon VIS scoot style hood. The lower pressure struts were too weak for it.

Struts should not bow the hood and cause it to fatigue. The struts attach to the hood at the metal hinges. When the hood is lowered, the force is pushing to the rear of the car against the metal hinge, not the hood. If it's causing a bulge, it's likely because the type of damper being used is too big and causing interference along the top of the fender.

For example, I don’t see how this type of setup could fatigue the hood. The brackets attach to a metal hinge that isn’t going to bend. Not all hood damper kits are equal.
