I got a quote today for a new antenna motor. $125 + labor. I was told they have to order it from mazda. is there anyone else who makes it for less, and how hard is the install (Can I do it myself without special tools)?

Screw that, i got a Metra one. I beleive its available at autozone. Of course I got mine through my work, but anyways. I have replaced every RX-7 broken ant. with one and never had a problem. Just reuse the old base and you all set to go, and at $40 for the whole thing you can loose...Fully automatic power ant...

Besides if you talking about a 2nd gen I got ant. That the motor is good but the mask is broken on. Id sell it cheap...

is "metra" the brand name? did you have to specify car make and model?

Hey i just thought id let you all know that i have a 1st gen and i just replaced the ant. in it with a "universal" one i got at schucks...it fit just fine and was $55.
