Power Antenna
Power Antenna
I got a power antenna but it has only 2 wires (one green, one red) and the car has 3 wires. How can I connect the antenna so when I turn the radio on the antenna goes up and when off down? Do I need to get something else? Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Luism12lm

Did you get a new aftermarket antenna? Anyway one of the wires gets 12v all the time (most likely the red but since I dont know your antenna I dont want to tell you 100%) and the green will then get 12v from the radio when its on. If its an aftermarket radio, and its is mid high end or higher there will be a blue wire and a blue with a white stripe. The blue is the power antenna and will give 12v when the radio is on, but not when a cd is in. If its low end it will only have only one of those two wires which will be 12v all the time so your antenna will be up even with a cd in. If you have a factory radio and hook it up correctly then it will work however the factory is supposed to work.
If it stays up all the time and you want it to go down, you can install a switch in line with the wire and just manually flip it off when a CD is in. Hope that helps. If you have any other questions let me know
