is powder coating ok for intercooler piping?
anyone know the answer to my question? im kind of tired of looking at polished aluminum and its a pain in the *** to keep clean so i figured i would powder coat them but im not sure if its bad in anyway.. will it hold the heat or will it even withstand the heat? thats my main concern..

itll definately withstand the heat, powdercoating (when hardened) is almost indestructible. theres guys on here that have painted their IC piping with no ill results. search the forum youll find all the info you need

Powder coating is fine for charge pipes. Yes it will hold in heat slightly as you are adding a very thin layer of plastic, but honestly considering that powder coating is only 0.5-1.2 mm thick I doubt it would be a measurable difference. Although I wouldn't do an intercooler.
