Post pictures of your favorite FC spoilers
I like this one. Maybe i'm partial since I have it on my own car, though. LOL. I'll get some painted pics of it up soon.

Sorry to bring this old thread back from the dead, but Ive been searching a lot and wondering what FC wings are actually FUNCTIONAL. Im building a FC I plan on tracking and wanted to go ahead and get out of the way if I could find somethign that looks good for a FC, or if I'm gonna have to go get a GT wing and struts (which =
on the street and is going to get me unwanted attention).
Lotta the wings on this thread look alright, but does anyone have any data or at least anecdotal impressions that it helps at high speeds?
The whale tails seem to look alright, but is it more than just show? lol.
Thanks in advance.

Depends on the track and the maximum speed you can predict. The stock whale tale is said to start being effective at 100 mph. Those larger ones posted earlier will probably start generating downforce around 90 mph. There are some issues with larger wings, however, in that they actually reduce top speed due to aerodynamic drag. Nothing comes free in physics. One other factor you will want to consider is the front air dam. While the stock front end isn't bad, you might want to test a flexible skirt extension to prevent more air from lifting the front end - really true if you put one of those monsters on. I believe most FDs have plenty of downforce with the stock wing, but it's the front where they are at risk of coming unglued once you start hitting 130 mph.
By the way, the coutout lights in the gold version in the first post, make absolutely no sense from a pure racing perspective unless you put some clear covers over the cutouts. It's like putting a spoiler on the front of an airplane wing. The same is true for the cutouts on the sides of the radiator inlet unless they are ducted to the brake rotors. Even then, you probably don't need 1/2 the volume I'm seeing. The induction hood seems equally as goofy. An NACA duct would probably work just as well without the aerodynamic penalty.

I really doubt top end is gonna be much of a problem, I'm going hinson LS1/T-56
Also, on Torque Central someone said the stock wing on his rear hatch... going like 140 woudlnt close it all the way! I guess some of the stockers are prettymuch useless, lol. BTW, its a FC, not a FD.
I just dont want to get it all sorted out, have months if not years of building and track school all culminate in rear lift and sliding off the course, or worse, into another car or a wall!
Im asking here cos Ive seen pics and threads of wings but never really much done about which ones really WORK, except one guy with a GT wing and some big *** race slicks under his fenders (I think he had a pic of his son inside one that was taken off the rim, WOW) and there are some racers here on this forum. Most of the Torquecentral guys seem to do Auto-x and Drag racing, and curves are more my thing. What attracted me to RX-7s in the first place is the handling, the v8 swap I just stumbled on... and I have experience with that, and guys I can go to for the crane and tools and ****, so
BTW, that gold thing up top reminds me of my stepdads 3rd Gen Camaro BIGTIME, LOL. Ive seen people putting clear or smoked plastic over it to help smooth out the nose... also, most 3rd gen Camaros have a big *** air dam on the chin of the nose, which happens to stick out like a foot or two past the radiator.
Hope I dont put too many people off, but this seems to be the place to ask. Thanks!

I like things that flow with the car. Anything bigger is to much rice for me. Unless you need it for track use. But face it most cars you see on the road dont need a double beck wing on it.
