Popping noise in speakers - Bose
Hi Guys,
I have a 93 Touring with Bose stereo. I am starting to get a loud cracking, popping noise from the rear subs from time to time. It seems to be getting worse.
Any ideas?
Dan

Blown!
Speakers sound like there are going. replace them. But check the impedence. I believe they are .5 ohms.
So replacing them with an after market 4 ohm speaker may not be the best thing to do unless your deck has already been replaced and all the Ohmage has already been converted with special coils.
This is just off the top of my head. I dont know much about "stock; 3rd gen stereo system.

Sounds like the amps in the speakers are going out. With the BOSE system, you only have two choices:
1. Get the original equipment repaired
2. Replace the entire system
Here's a place that many forum members have used to repair the BOSE equipment:

Good luck.
