Polishing GXL Rims?
I have the 15" alloy GXL wheels and thought it would be pretty nice to polish them up and get them shining nice and bright. The search didn't bring up any results pertaining to the GXL wheels and I was just wondering if it's something I could do myself with a small electric sander (my wife has one of those B&D mouse things for furniture refinishing), and some metal polish.
I don't know if they are currently clearcoated or need to be, it's an aluminum alloy that won't corrode, correct?
Thanks for any advice!

that will work. Just sand them down slowly working the way up to 1500 grit wetsand. Then polish the crap out of them with a dremal. Clear if you want. They should look really good after that. However if you paint the center caps silver again make sure you clear that. Otherwise it fades really fast and turns gray and muddy looking.

Cool, I was going to just wet sand it down to the 1500 grit and probably stop there. I was hoping for maybe more of a polished/brushed look. What would you recommend for alloy polish and where would you get it?
