Exclamation Please Help!!!

ok...when i bought my car, it had an aftermarket deck, and a broken power ant. One day i decided to replace the power ant, so i went to schucks and bought a "universal" one and it fits just fine. anyway...the stock wires on the ant itself were Red, Blue, and Blue w/Yellow Stripe. The wires on my new one are Red, Black, and Blue. So what i need to know is TWO things...one, how should i hook up the wires from the new ant to the stock wiring harness...and two, what color is the power ant lead AT THE DECK ? i noticed that even though the mast was broken, the motor never tried to move the ant on the old one...which tells me either the ant motor was bad, or it was just never hooked up to the new deck, which is why i want to know what color the power ant wire is that you hook up to the stereo. i hope that this makes sense to someone that can help, im so tired it almost doesnt even make sense to me...

what model year?

chances are that the aftermarket radio was not wired correctly to activate the factory antenna.

Haynes sells a good repair manual with the wiring harness diagrams for the 1st gens. They are usually sold at regular autoparts stores.

Well, even after all my searching, I never found the wire at the CD player that im supposed to hook up to my CD players power antenna lead. I figure it was removed before i bought the car when all the stereo equipment was installed. Plus, the three wires at the back that plugged into the old antenna had no power going to any of them...Soooo I said screw it, and ran all new wires. I took the lead off the CD player and ran it back to the Blue, grounded the Black wire, and put (fused) constant to the Red...Now the antenna will go down even after the key is removed :o) Alright so im happy with it, and it works AND I have no more static! Even untill now, I still dont know why I have no power in the stock harness (probably never will know why)...Oh well, I really dont care anymore, my antenna works :o) Oh, and I still dont know what color the stock wire is that I was supposed to hook up to the power antenna lead off the CD player, but like I said, I dont care, my antenna works :o)

Just as a note...I have that manual, and it only talks about cars with the antenna switch...I.E. - not the 85 GSL-SE, or the 85 GSL (maybe others also, but I have those two cars, and I know its different) which is fully automatic. So basically the manual is no help because it talks about the cars that have the antenna switch on the dash board, and mine doesnt. Thanks anyway :o)
