Thanks for the compliments guys. I put some miles on her but I was having trouble with the injectors sticking due to them sitting with bad gas. She is back up at KDR for the finishing touches. I will have a dyno sheet and hopefully a video also.

I'd like to know as well, I'm about to buy the ballbearing version of the 6265...hoping for 450rwhp without having to run too much boost.

I just got a call from Aspec my turbo is geting shipped friday. Precision changed there design on the turbo the 6265 i'm getting does is not water cooled, precision said they did a lot of testing and it works well. However its not a drop in replacement because the chra is about a 1/2" shorter. I will see hoping to hit 500hp.

Ok, I have good news and I have bad news. The good news is this turbo will make well over 500whp. The bad news is I blew my motor due to having the wrong wastegate spring. I will post a update of what was damaged once the motor is apart. Also my turbo is not water cooled. I'm going to be pulling my motor out and painting the whole car while out, engine bay, door jams and all. I have already purchased every weather stripping and piece of plastic for the car new from malloy. Now the thing is I can paint the car any color since I'm going to be painting the engine bay, jams and hatch jam anyway. Pretty much anything you would ever see is getting painted. The only thing I'm not removing is the interior. Now I have the JKL race version gtc bumper GTC lenses and feed combo lights, JKL's under tray/splitter, GTC side skirts, GTC wing, ganador mirrors with led turn signals, JKL remake of carbon fiber re amemiya ad9 hood, re amemiya original rear diffuser. feed door handles, feed fender braces, feed carbon fiber door sills and a sake bomb hid kit on order. I also have a new windshield tinted in 35% waiting to be put on after paint. Alot of the inspiration for my build came from Dcups car except I changed a few things like he got the feed vented head light cover, he has a different diffuser and his gandor mirror don't have the led turn signals. Now I wanted to get opinions if I should keep the car black or paint it white? The white I will pick will be a pearl white. Possibly from a rz model or something along those lines.
also if someone can photo chop Dcups car with a white body but leave the rims and carbonfiber hood alone that would be cool to.
Thanks

Thats sucks man, what kind of boost were you pushing and what spring did you need. I guess its the best time to paint the car though. I was going to wait till I got mine tuned and tear it all apart and pretty much do the same as you except I have a shine burnout kit collecting dust in my garage to put on. I going from vintage red to something more sinister looking, I think a car with that much power needs to have a strong color. With your body mod it will already make a statement and the white will show off the body well but the black will give that "dont **** with me" impression. Thats just me though.

Who was tuning the car? What kind of power was it making before it blew and at what pressure?

I was driving on the highway when it blew up. I hit 24lbs of boost. I was on the way to get it tuned because the spring came in the mail. I shouldn't of been driving it. I drove it for over a week, almost two and it wouldn't hit over 18lbs. in 1st 2nd and 3rd. I guess 4th gear is when the boost shot up. Well I will never make this mistake again. Anyway I have the kit and all the stuff at the painters house. They will be taking my motor out next week. So do you guys think white will look good with the gt-c kit? Or the black looks better? I can do White if I want. I'll be honest I think the white looks better on the outside and the black looks nicer in the engine bay with the chrome. I don't want to have a different color engine bay though.

OK scratch that idea. I'm gonna keep it black. The painters brother says you will always be able to tell it was a different color car. He did a color change on his car and says its a problem and basically talked me out of doing it. I'm still going to repaint everything, engine bay and all since motor will be out.

Um, the painter's brother is dead wrong. I've seen numerous FDs that went through a complete color change and you would have zero idea of the original color. Why make a decision on your car based on one person's opinion?

that doesn't really make sense man....boost spike in 4th? was that your first time takeing it up in 4th? do you remember what rpm exactly? and what spring were you running in there again?

you drove it for over a week after or before it blew?
how many miles where on it?.....and not to be a jerk..but if it was newly built...why were you beating on it?

Black is always classy...maybe you could do something cool like a blue/red pearl over it...possibly even a light flake like the 04 350z black w/metal flake.

What wastegate?

ttys.

GoodfellaFD3S is right. I changed my color to IBM Blue and you can spend as much time as you want trying to figure out what color it is and you will not know without ripping apart the interior. If it's done right you cannot tell the color was changed.

If you want to change your color, while your engine is out is the best time so you can do the engine bay as well.

The motor was broken in. Motor has probably 10,000 miles on it. Dave says it was tuned just had a problem regulating the boost. I'm not sure of which spring was in there. He took a spring and cut it when I had my gt35r and it worked fine. Dave says with this turbo he needed a new spring because this turbo blows my 35r away. I drove for a little over a week with out ever going over 18psi. The thing is I never really put the car under load in 4th and winded it out high enough to spool this turbo up in 4th. At like 5,000 rpm is when this turbo is really kicking. That's what it took to hit 24lbs of boost and blow it up. I blew it up on the highway. I never beat my car drag racing on the street.

So you guys think I should look into having someone else paint the car? The painters brother has all my body kit and other pieces at his house and he also did a lot of really high quality work on my car already. He is the one who works on my car.

Also I agree. I see lots of cars at the track or car shows with crazy colors and you can never tell. I'm definitely not gonna pull my interior out though.

So I finally decided I'm going to keep the car black but add a pearl to the paint. Also while the motor is out I'm going to pin it, fully bridge it, go with a twin plate clutch, change my boost controller to a blitz i-color with the black bezel and remove my apexi turbo timer and use my alarm as a turbo timer. Also since I am painting the cars and have the opportunity to really role the fenders I'm going to go with some really aggressive rims. This place I know of from a friend called R/T tuning said he can pretty make any rim fit and give any car a alignment no matter how low it is to the ground as long as the motor is in the car because they need the weight of the motor to get it perfect for that super tight fit. So that means I have to spray the engine bay, then have the motor installed, then fit the kit. Bring it to them to fit the rims. Then spray the rest of the car. I was think about doing a Gram light 57s pro with titanium lip and RMC center. 18x10 in the rear +20 offset 18x9.5 front +20 offset. for that big lip look. I wanted to get opinions on the sizes. This is the rim I like.

You would have been much better off with 18x10s IMO.......

Why do you say that? I'm going for a set of rims mostly for car shows. Also I'm going to try and run Toyo r888 265-30/19 upfront and 285-30/19 in the rear. I'm going to take the car to R/T tuning for them to do the fender rolling and pulling and they give the car a alignment and set the car up. They pretty much said I have nothing to worry about once there done as far as rubbing issues once there done. Then it's going for paint. I really want to avoid the stretching as much as possible. I have the volk GT-N's on RA1's for any type of performance driving.
