any update?

well luckky for FC owners all they had to do was pull the fuse that controlled the retractor on the headlamp, then go and turn the knob for up and down, and then touch the place where the fuse belongs, until it raises to desired height. But I still think that Fumanchu's headlamps are TRICK! Do you know if they'd fit on an FC?

Once I get a day off of school and work, not gonna happen for a while, I am going to take them back out and work on them for a bit.


I was willing to possibly make them for people but no one seemed to be interested. After you buy both of the HID low beams and then get some high beams, the sleek light kits are cheaper.

fumanchu- i'd appreciate any info/help you could give me on making these headlights? wael was going to but i havent been able to contact him.

i'm probably going to try to make the height adjustable and perhaps a slightly different design but it would be helpful to know how this thing works, especially the motor

Dude I've always loved the "sleepy" conversions on any flip-up headlighted car, it just makes it look 10x more badass.

Both Hella light assemblies you have are weather-proof, so you shouldn't have any problems with them in the rain.

I'm interested too. I prefer those over any of the sleek headlight kits. If you can come up with a solid product that isn't too cost prohibitive, I'm down. :)

Just for parts Wael estimated it would be close to $700. Then another $200-$300 for labor to retrofit your housings and motor. Thats a lot of money but I guess it is still cheaper than an RE HID kit or KS Sleepy Eye kit.


Wael also decided that it would be a pain in the ass to have to take core charges and stuff. Also what would happen if the motor went out right afterwards?? Who would be to blame.


I would be willing to help if people wanted to do it by themselves. It doesn't look too difficult. I have been meaning to take mine apart and redo it a little bit. I am also going to try and retrofit the stock bezel to go around it.

You know even for the stock head light the light cover can easily fly away from your car. How about the sleepy lights? Isn't it going to be easier that the light cover would be able to flown away?

You guys should work out a conversion parts kit. Only include the unique parts needed for the conversion, with a GOOD set of directions on how to intall and perform any modifications to the stock parts, and leave that to the customer... that way you have no liability hassles. To really finish the deal, i'd partner w/ Chuck @RE and have him fab some nice CF shrouds for a clearer look and reduced fly-off risk.

I have had no problems so far. And on one side, the bracket on the back of the cover is totally snapped off :eek: Hasn't flown off yet.

There are no special lights, just the get the HID's and fog light of your choice. I gave the HID model number on the first page and the link to it. Other than that, all you need to do is modify the motor which only Wael knows how to do.

Thats a pretty good idea. It isn't that hard to do the conversion. With detailed instructions and good pictures, it could be done. The only problem is this isn't my design to be making money off of. It's Wael's.

I'm sure you, Wael, and Chuck could come to some sort of agreement :-)
