Looks a million times better without the gold. That was my first move once i got mine two years ago (get rid of the gold) I painted the Rx7 logo RED and it looks awesome. It really stands out when the doors are opened and works well with the whole scheme- Black R1, Black volk SE37Ks, red powdercoated calipers w/ mazda logo polished and a red R1 script painted on the rear bumper and single tip RB exhuast.

Race1, you paint it with paint? I want to get these for my FD but I hate the gold...the red thing would work well with my VR car. I was thinking of getting stickers made my a local sign place or something.

TTT is chroming mine as we speak. Becareful when prying the 'gold' lettering off - the aluminum is very soft and scratches/scores easily. Which leads to what Gordon pointed out - they do look pretty flimsy. I was planning to fill the underside space with something to stiffen it - lots of plastic wel/epoxy maybe, or FG/resin?

NODE: I do have some pictures of my car online- check this link- https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...st+got+my+volk
JUST scroll down, they should already be hosted, You can also check my avatar - I don't have any pics of the scuff plates or the rear R1 painted on YET.
DECAY: I used a special paint from a sign shop that is used for doing lettering- Really good stuff as it even sticks to glass well. I forgot the name of the product- its been about 3yrs since I did it and still looks 100% perfect (can't say that about the aluminum though)- search around, call around, I'm sure you can find it from a shop that does custom signage.

Im going to make these out of carbon fibre this spring. Ill post pics when done.Your polished sills look great.I've got these ones they came with the car when I bought it.I rubbed the coating off and polished them a bit by hand but it looks like you put yours on a buffing wheel.Anyway they look good reguardless what you did
If anybody would be interested in the carbon door sills
