Yea I figured as much...cuz you gotta transfer the parts from your original hatch to it. That, and I don't think anyone ever pre-drills CF for ya, because a) every car lines up just a TINY bit diff, and b) it's not so easy, and they don't wanna mess it up before they sell it! lol

I think that's a definite possibility, and I have no prob talking to them to see if we can get it started....BUT we gotta have enough interest, cuz I don't think 3 guys qualifies as a "group" buy LOL

IS the VIS real C.F. or just the overlay type though. And if your putting all the panels and stuff back onto it is it really saving that much weight. The only reason I want to get one is for weight saving not style. I'm not saying that the VIS doesn't save weight, but look at there hoods. Everyone thinks that the VIS CF hoods save like 10lbs or something like that, but in reality they save like 2 lbs if that. Pettits hatches can be used with the stock hinges and saves a sh*t load of weight. There are some down sides to the hatch but overall I think its better in the performance sense of it.

Have you ever taken the pieces off the hatch? Like most of the interior pieces they weight next to nothing, so I don't see that being that big of deal. I wouldn't put them back on anyway, anybody need some interior pieces?
As far as the Pettit is concerned, I'm pretty sure it doesn't use the stock hinges or mounting points. It's merely a skin that you have to custom fab to get to fit the vehicle. I don't mind doing that, however at this point I'm getting tired of doing custom work.

What he said. That, and if you use teh stock hinges on the Pettit CF hatch, I wouldn't be surprised if all of a sudden one of them ripped right through the CF, given that they're made to hold up a what...75 lb hatch? And now they're barely being held down by 30 lbs or so?

Ditto. If you like their hood, you'll LOVE their polyfiber body parts...WOW. Durable as HELL.
