Parts back from powdercoating *pics*

Just thought I'd share some pics of certain parts I had powdercoated by Scott Nagler (aka rotarysc on this forum and raspyrx7 on teamfc3s). I had Scott sand blast and powdercoat all the parts wrinkle black.

Everything came out great! Metal scarring, flat spotting, and pitting was all removed and every part had a consistant textured finish. On top of all that Scott's customer service was great, he kept me up to date of progress and answered all my questions promptly (in a matter of hours normally). I also forgot to remove the double throttle from the manifold (has a plastic sleeve and rubber bushing that needed to be removed) and Scott was nice enough to remove it at no additional cost.

Scott's contact info is on his site www.realcoatings.com. If you are considering having your parts coated you can see further examples of Scott's work and a break down of his pricing, which is very competitive, on his site.

And now for the pics of my parts...

Looks like a crinkle powder coat. It will give it the sleek OEM look. Nice work.

It might actually be something good to consider now that CA is cracking down on modded cars. This could be useful.

Here's some more pics. Notice the deleted casting ridge on the manifold, makes it look a lot better IMO.

I wanted to, but do to the high temps the powdercoating needs to be put at there are a number of plastic and rubber pieces that would have to be removed. I didn't trust myself to disassemble a throttle body and put it back to spec and the only person I've heard that does this is Garfinkle. I was also getting anxious to put the car back together and didn't want to lose more time . But if you know someone who can reassemble a TB near me let me know as I will eventually want to coat that as well.

Even with the throttle body left untouched, the parts still look great. Nice job man.

me too, thats the only thing thats stopping me from doing my polished uim/tb swap, is ruining the perfect idle.

but since my idle got funky 2 nights ago, i might as well do it right? but the thing is that it only happened that night, today it seemed fine, idk what the hell is wrong..

Hey baller-boy... the parts look great man. Flows very well w/ the factor plastic pipes You need to grab one of those unpolished Efini pipes and have 'em powdercoated too...

But yea...even though I'm not a fan of black engine bay pieces, I think it's lookin real good. Looks mean!

Nice PFS SMIC ya got there too Gotta powdercoat that thing too...it's messing up your gothic look w/ all it's bling!

slap on some black couplers and take care of that intercooler and it will look great.

i personally wouldnt powdercoat the intercooler. might want to consider that special black paint that you can get from eastwood company. its made to go on radiators and that kind of stuff without affecting heat transfer.

Yep flows nicely with the car and my black/blue look. I had an efini y pipe for a while, but sold it just like all the other parts I've owned (PFC, door sils, RB wing...). We'll see what the future holds but as of right now I'm not planning any other performance mods.

It should. And like I said before, you deserve every bit of credit I'm giving you. Nice to meet someone who does great work, at great prices, and with great customer service.

Did I mention that Scott's site is realcoatings.com which includes samples of his work, price break down and contact info?

I actually drove to ATP Turbo to pick up those blue couplers just for putting everything back together. If you saw pics of the rest of my car you would know how nicely it matches. As far as the intercooler and TB goes, I'll be contacting Scott towards the end of Summer before I drop the car back into storage to see what we can do about those items . But right now they aren't bothering me.

Pricing is on Scott's site. I believe my total came to ~$130 after shipping.

it's actually not that hard at all to do the swap. I recently bought a polished throttle body from CantGoStraight and i had to swap all my parts over. it's a really good opportunity to retune the TPS and familiarize yourself with all the TB parts. All you need is a FSM and you're good to go.

My paint is a Mercedez color actually and I'm running a PFS SMIC. But it's nice to know there are others out there with the same great taste I have

His work really is great. I'm getting together another lot of parts to send to him probably around December or so.

I hope others are taking advantage of Scott's services.
