paintless dent removal: thumbs up
hello all,
not sure if any fellow FD'ers have gone under the "knife" so to speak and had paintless dent removal....but i recently did.
I had the following nickel sized dings:
2-hood
1-pass door
2- pass rear qtr
2- driver rear qtr
2- driver door
1- driver front qtr
on my silver fd, these went virtually un-noticed by all but me....reason enough to get it done.
to my pleasant surprise, it went very well. the access seemed to be quite good and the result is a ding free fd.
the PDR technician started with the hood (more difficult to massage out) and worked his way around the car in a clockwise manner.
the doors were easily done: just inserted a protective device in the window them the tool was used to massage out the ding.
the passenger quarter required removal of the taillights and entry into the rear qtr through an access hole.
in total, he spent about 2hrs on the car.
i'd recommend this procedure to anyone with dings, provided they use someone that has the right tools and experience.
regards
eric

2hrs labor at 100/hr for the repair....$200 in total or 20/ding.
not bad when you look at it that way. i've heard stories of people charging 150/panel.
