My friend just started his auto body class here at the college so we just moved my car out of his garage where we were working on it before to the college auto shop. These past few days he has been making a ton of progress on the sanding and body filling and he just told me that he will be ready for paint next week. I have been looking online at different paints and I am confused on what paint I should buy.
The car was painted by a previous owner which wasnt a great job so clear coat was flaking off and bubbling and the paint was chipping off, especially on the spoiler. The car is a s5 BTW. I am told that I might need a different kind of paint that will adhere to the surface of the spoiler since it is a rubber like material. Is this true? If so what kind of paint should I get? Also what kind of paint should I buy for the whole car? Single stage? Stage 2? Urethane? Acrylic?
What brand is decent for the money? I am going to paint it white so Im pretty sure every brand will have my color. Any input I can get on this will be helpful. Hopefully you can answer one of my questions or all of them. Thanks!

 

I would ask your friend since he's... in school for that sort of thing. Or maybe his teacher?

 

I paint on the side and its really a preference thing, I use dupont chromabase and it works great, the color is deep and the clear is tough after its been set
