Plateless makes the car look like it's grinning with a drooping nose.

I like plateless better, but there is not a good fitting urethane version of the plateless out there that I know of. Pettit makes a fiberglass version that is suppose to fit well(and looks like it does on David Hayes car), but I don't like fiberglass front bumpers on cars that I'm going to drive on the street. Therefore, even though I think the plateless looks better... especially from the side, I vote OEM because it doesn't look bad and you can't beat OEM fitment.

the plated looks out of place.. you guys are crazy.. why does it have to stick out so far? cant it just be a simple little holder like here in the US?

To the gonzo joke people: Well, I see that they deleted the plate wrong, and made that line "Droop" when it should have been straight across.

(the top line of the center opening is wierd, yes, but that can be fixed.)

Check out my pics again. The Pettit bumper is pretty damn straight across the front end and it doesn't droop. I have seen, however, bad copies where they do droop. I'd avoid these.

And I agree, as a purist, with Gordon below, the rectangular box on the front end just doesn't go with the lines of the car at all.

There are other options for front bumpers. Some even look way better IMO than the 99spec.You could get the Burnout front and mount the plate at the very botom front in the center at a 45 deg angle tilted back towards the radiator. Then there would be no need to second guessing yourself on the ugly front plate mount built into the 99spec.

i hate plateless and want the 99 but im so angry the plate is there
i dont think theres a correct way to make a plateless 99
because the only one that looks somewhat good is the pettit and its fibergalss which i refuse to put on the front of my car

Most of the Petit ones I've seen seam to dip on the top of the intercooler opening. This one seams to be straight across. I might not be right, though.
Thank You

I don't understand how the front end is any LESS smiling and droop-nosed with a liscense plate brick stuck on it. Then it's just smiling and droop-nosed with a Hitler mustache (or without a plate, then the brick just has a little smiling "mini-me" face).

Perhaps the liscense plate distracts your eye from looking at what's still also there, but the bottom line is, its STILL there (smile and droop nose). It's not like it changes the shape of the center opening one bit.
