Main Switch should be the same as the button on the side of the Tach/Speedo panel that turns the Cruise control feature off so you don't accidentally hit it and .... lose control or whatever it's for but it's on the dash on the FD, some Manufacturers put it on the same panel as all the other cruise controls...

Very Nice Find!! That saves me the time of playing with it.

Well, here is a picture of the back of a 2002 Spirit R steering wheel from jef57 for sale ad. It appears that you would still have to drill holes in any wheel that you purchase, regardless if it came from an RX-7, Miata, or Protege.

I saw that one on ebay too and was looking at the pictures. I'm going to try and see what I can come up with this weekend if I get time.

So a 2002 Mazda Miata Nardi Torino wheel would be the same as the 00+ posted here?

Yes. You can use a 99 - 03 and be fine. The same goes for Protege wheels.

I have both. Well the Protege is on the way (hooray). I do not want to loose my cruise control. I am going to check if I can swap out the control pod. If not, i'll make a template as I have a feeling I may need to drill a hole. I don't know if it is sold seperate as I can't even find steering wheels in the parts fische (only air bags). I don't want to loose the Nardi logo either, otherwise i'd just swap the air bag.

I have an '02 mazdaspeed miata wheel on my FD, same as protege on the rear, but the texture is a little different I think. Same size as stock when I measured it too

Oh, and the reason why the airbag has those big gaps is because the airbag went off in the previous car Can't complain though, I only paid $100 for all of it

Yeah, that's a deal. The current ebay rate (without an air bag) is $250 for the Miata wheel. I wonder if the Miata and Protoge are slightly different and the air bag replaced in yours is for the Protoge or did you get a RX7 air bag? Oh wait, didn't David say the Protoge wheel diamter is smaller? So if the Miata wheel diameter is the same as the RX7 then a Protege air bag would explain the gaps.

I think they are all the same in diameter. I know the Miata and Protege ones are the same. The $250 price tag is pretty steep but the prices and the number of wheels available via eBay changes often so keep checking. I paid $62 dollars shiipped for my wheel and $50 shipped for the airbag. An eBay trick is to see if an item sells and if it doesn't then contact the seller with a lowball offer and see if he/she will sell. You can also check of the Miata and Protege forums for some really good bargains.

I'm pretty sure its the same size airbag as well, the sides of the wheel itself are just actually bent out, from a previous airbag going off in it.

I agree with what David Hayes said, checking the miata/protege forums for a used steering wheel
