OEM Bose?
My 93' Touring I bought had the Bose removed. I understand with the Bose system the speaker locations right behind the seats are filled in with small bins correct? Is it worth trying to purchase a used Bose and put it back in the hatch or was it not that good to begin with? Is it hard to put speakers in the normal locations on the sides right beind the seats?
I would not get the factory bose system put back in it. It is overrated and plus alpine type r's are way better than any bose system. Or for that fact find someone who is selling some speakers im sure there is somebody.
The BOSE system basically had a bass tube (aka the snake) in the truck area. The speaker were by the shock towers.
IMO, if you want sound, you'll be better off just getting a new stereo and speakers put in the car.

Personally, I was pleasantly surprised when I 1st heard the BOSE system. So many people hate it, that I really thought it would sound like crap.
I gotta say, IMO, The bass that that little tube puts out is about perfect for our cars, and it's pretty damn lightweight too(which is nice for me, 'cause I like to take my car to the track). The front BOSE speakers in the doors sound great, with plenty of SQ. My only issue is with the headunit. It's definately seen better days, so I'm planning on putting in an Eclipse or Alpine deck and maybe an amp and running my BOSE stuff with that.

If you want the best sound quality, you would just want speakers in the front enclosures with a sub in the hatch. You don't want rear fill speakers....which is why the highs are rolled off in the OEM non-Bose system rear speakers. If you will not use a sub, then you will need to use rear-fill speakers to get any bass.
