If there wasnt an amp, what would they run off of? Don't even begin to tell me the battery : ). I could not tell you where the amp is located, most likely in the headunit.

There is an amp for each speaker in the system. For the front speakers, they each have their amp in the box that holds the speaker in the door. The rear wave tube thingy has the speakers in the driver side (i think) and the amps should be right near it. Its the side that's a lot heavier than the other. You can take it apart fairly easily and see them. They are abour 3"x4" long I'd say. Good luck fixing that; I just tore it out and put a sub back there.

Come on! Haven't you heard the saying: No highs, no lows, must be Bose?

Wouldnt matter what car you have. Every speaker has to run off of an amplifier.

Dont most decks put out enough power to run component's? The little amps for the bose speakers are the first I've seen for an individual speaker.

My bose sub hits, but there is barely anything coming out of it. I have to crank the bass up on the little dial and even at that, its much weaker than I can remember. I have had to pull the thing out and put it back in several times, so maybe a fuse blew somehow?
I don't use the system often, I much rather prefer the engine, the exhaust and of course the turbos, but I'd like to get this thing working if its gonna be in the car.

Take the "+" and "-" wires and reverse them. Sometimes when wiring everything up, they get reverse. It wont hurt anything if you try changing the wires. If the bass gets worse than put them back the way you had them. If it gets better than you had it wired "Out of phase".

The amp for the snake is mounted right on it. Remove the snake and you will see it.

+ and - ? where are these? I just found one white plug on the driver side where the thing hooks up. Im a complete tool when it comes to sound systems, especially this one.

And let me get this straight. To pull the ENTIRE anaconda snake thing out, (because I have done it a lot for the fuel pump, back bumper and fuel door), there is only one plug that I need to disconnect to get it out. And of course if this is true, one to plug back in right?

and my speakers sound like crap for some reason now. They almost sound like they're blown. and of course I have the same problems as everyone does with the CD player, and I don't feel like forking out the cash to fix it when an aftermarket deck would be a much better option IMO. Whos got the quick fix?

There is a +(positive Side) and - "negative" side to your amp. Swith one wire around on the amp. I bet one wire has a red stripe running down the wire. That would be the +(positive) Sometime the other wire has a white line on it, that is the -(Negitve).

Yeah, the amp in the "snake" has only one plug. I'd be willing to bet it is your speaker amps and *not* your deck. The system is self-amplified, so all the deck does is send an unamplified signal to the speakers. In all honesty, the Bose system does sound very nice when it is working correctly. I would just buy used amps from someone on the forum and replace them. If you want to get them repaired (and it comes with a lifetime warranty), go to http://www.carstereohelp.com. I had one of my speaker/amp fixed by them, and it came back looking like new.
