that alarms has keyless entry, remote start, alarm and all other goodies. That's why he picked it, I think. It's really good, plus on the pager, there is a picture of the FD .

I didn't give away anything people can't find out by looking at the car.

Wow, a $100 install? Did that include a driver's side solenoid too?

I've installed a few alarm systems, and the FD was the most difficult.

Where did the alarm's antenna end up being installed? I put mine in the center console and get OK range... but I guess it always COULD be better.

The transmission is done with radio frequency, so it doesn't need a line of sight. The antenna is actually buried under the dash with the brain of the alarm, and it works out the point where I can't hear the little "chirp chirp" from the car anymore.

does anyone know if that little keypad that you have to type in the code in order to star the car, is it possible to star the car by turning the key to on possition and then typing in the code? I mean, could i work like a s2000 start button?

I just got my keypad starter kill today, and i looked at the diagram, and it says it needs to tap into starter solenoid wire. Where is this wire?

Thanks

Hehe... Mine is RF too. I didn't mount the antenna in plain view. I'm not that tacky! :P:

There's a bit of empty space between the transmission tunnel and the center console panel (well at least the "elbow-rest "portion). I stuffed it in there. I figured it would get less interference from the metal parts in the dash.

I was just wondering if it actually made any difference, since at my antenna's location, it still has to contend with most of the body metal. It goes through the building at work, so I guess I should be happy.

I stuck mine between the A-Pillar and the covering where most people mount their Boost Gauge and whatever else, fits perfectly back there... Just enough room, and it sits high so it gets better reception than in the center console

It's really hard to say where the best place is (aside from on top of the car) due to the body metal causing destructive RF interferance.

I hope the next generation of these have a walkie-talkie feature, where you can shout into the transmitter, and you voice would come out the speaker.

What kind of range are you getting DCrosby? I've tested it sitting in my office next to the building wall nearest to the car, and with the car outside about 100ft away. If I walk toward the center of the building, I can receive from the car still, but can't send from the transmitter. The building is single story with very high ceilings and (most likely) a metal frame.

sorry to bring this thread up again, but i'm having a little problem. I installed a S2000 start button with relay and it works fine. Then i tried to install that keypad start kill, like the directions said. It also has a relay by the way. It's kind of similar to start button, but not.

Anyway, I turn the key to on position, type the code to turn off the keypad, The lights went off, Meaning that it's ready to start. BUT....
It doesn't start. I just get clicking which comes fromt he Start button relay. Why is that. I don't know much about relays, but can 2 relays work together.

funny thing is that the start button relay is clicking(which works fine without the keypad) and the keypad relay is fine.

Anyone have any idea what's wrong?

Thanks

this might be slightly off topic.. but are you installing this yourself?? if so, can you tell me some installation tip.. ie, wiring diagram to which wire hooks up where..

I have an alarm system that I want to install and want to double check my wiring diagram..
