Cool, where, when and how much??
Are these for the stock pop up H4's???
How did they do high and low beams?
Is there any chance you could some take some pics of the street lit up with both high and low beams?
Also, maybe a head on shot???
Thanks.

I'll be selling them soon, but I don't know the price yet, but they're pretty expensive though.

I'll get shots of road + head-on, although head-on I might blind myself. LMAO I'll see if I can get the comparison shots with PIAA Super Whites or something

and yes, they're drop in for the pop-ups

Hey are these H4 bulbs.
Also are they using the stock lens?

I have the HID Plus dual kit that uses a mirror to get the high beams.

Like to see pics of the bulb set up please.

No mirrors, its a custom solenoid/actuator setup that bumps it to the focus degree of the standard high-beam, i measured it as well.

Yes, stock housing, stock lens, they really are drop-in. H4 bulbs, in the same location, the difference is, unlike the cheaper kits which use a "ballast" which have ignitor + inverter in one box, this kit has ignitor and inverter separate, which allows easier install and more flexibility.

And yes, I know its for a FD, but still, 1200 bucks for HIDs, you don't think thats expensive??

yeah they plug into your stock wiring, and you dont have to upgrade the harnesses because they go directly to your power points. No burned harnesses.. always a good thing.

I'm trying to get them in from Japan, its a PITA. Either way though, because the control box reads the voltage actuation from the stock wiring, it flips it to the high-beam angle without having external switches, so it acts exactly like the stock headlights.

I was sooooo glad to see that when I installed

OK tell me how its better. The ones I installed I paid $500.00 for. It had a ballas and H4 type HID lamps.
If yours are seperate the you would have to locate more parts to install.

I do like your light pattern better. Is this some kind of custom set up you made?

The only reason why I say its better is because there are less parts to break, I saw the ones with mirrors and a friend of mine who was racing broke one of his mirrors in his lights whilst he was racing, and advised me not to get those lights, but if they work well for you, I'm glad to hear.

The boxes are not really all that hard to install, they are pretty small and easily locatable, so I wouldn't say that its that much more of a PITA persay, as they really are drop-in, like I said. The light pattern is actually the stock light dispersion through the stock housing + lens. If you buy the European OEM Mazda Glass housings, you'd have a better beam pattern, but alas, they are 600 for both sides if I am not mistaken.

The set up wasn't custom for me, they are just kits from Japan which happen to have been used on the RX-7, the reason I had seen them was because I was there a couple of years ago and had seen them and inquired about them, and finally bought them. *shrug* I needed both beams to pass inspection, and this was the way..

How much is "expensive" when you say that? I'm always in the mood to see really solid good upgrades, but just curious about the pricing. Just a ballpark would be cool...

You are correct on the mirrors they did break on my first set. I contacted the dealer they checked in to it and replaced the HID bulbs. THe manufacture made a production run with the plastic parts holding the mirror in place. Any way the spring that returns the mirror back melted through it support tension. I have new HID bulbs now with like some type of harder plastic more heat resistant.

I'd like more data on your set up and I am interested. I'll take the HID Plus out and install it in another car I have. So how do I get a set of your type. Do the have a web site? And also how exactly does the high beams work?

Also as a note. You MUST disable the alarm from flashing the lights when in alarm. IT cooks the ballas. YOU CAN"T DO FLASH TO PASS WITH HID.

Well, once I get some approval from the Japanese place, I'll be glad to set-up pricing and availability etc, etc. Either way, the high-beam is basically the low beam but solenoid shifted to the high-beam angle so its HID high using the same bulb but at a different angle. You can use the high-beams to flash people using this kit, like I said, its like having stock lights, except their HIDs. and I do not have to disable my alarm, although re-igniting the HIDs incessantly is not exactly a good thing.

THe only part I disable on my alarm is when the head lights flash when in alarm. So realy just the parking lights and horn come on when alarm is tripped.

WorkS2R,

What became of this? Any more purchasing info., more impressions now that you've had them longer, etc.

I'm very interested.
