I am installing a new head unit into my 82 gsl. I have power, illumination, sound to the front speakers, but I cannot get the back speakers to come on. Is there a seperate harness, like the ones for the front, for the back speakers? If there is I can't find it. Do I splice into the front speaker wires with the rear ones? Help!

 

If your car had the clarion stock am/fm/tape with the eq and joystick fade/balance, you have built in amps which are under the storage bins. Whenever I wired my first gen stereos, I ran new speaker wire directly to the speakers from the deck (or aftermarket amp). Both the amps and all the wiring can be removed as it is just extra weight

PS. I dunno if the 82 gsl has the clarion stero, i know 100% 84-85 do

 

it had the clarion, no equalizer or joystick, it was two seperate units, a radio above the ash tray and a tape player down below.
