Need some advice on components for first gen sound system

OK ya'll. After five years of owing the mound I have finally got around to putting in a Nakamichi CD-45Z head unit to replace the factory stereo. It sounds pretty clean with just my EX seriers polks in the rear. But this is a total upgrade, so I need more.

Front speakers- Looking to get 5 1/4 components for the front. Would like to spend no more than $200. I am going to mound them in the stock location, any and either mount the tweeters in the side air vents of down in the kicks aiming up. I've been told the Polk DX or DB series are decent speakers for a good price. Any other adivice?

Amp This is where I am most confused. I'd like to power the the rears and fronts with ~40-50 watts RMS, seems enough to me. I would also like to power a sub, or two. Should I get a four channel amp and a dedicated sub amp, or maybe go for a 5 or 6 channel amp to drive it all. I just like the idea of driving everything with one amp, since I plan on using the dead space under the storage compartments to store the amp. (Assuming it will fit and keep cool??) Willing to spend ~300-400 for an amp or amp that suits my needs here.

Sub Phase two of this project is to add a sub or subs while keeping a stock look. I would like to make a box and put the subs near the tailights. I've seen this before and think that it is the ideal location, stealth and good placement. I think 8" can be made to fit in sealed enclosures. Should I get one or two subs, and what kind of power do I need to drive em decently? Any recommendations on underrated subs out there?

Right on.

take a look at focal component speakers. i found a set of polyglass 6.5" comps for around $240 at www.carstereomall.com . they've got this funky cone that comes out of the center of the mid. a dispersion cone, i believe. anyway, i heard some at a local shop, and they sounded the best, BY FAR, off axis than any other speaker that shop carried(like alpine, mb qrt, kenwood, infinity). to me, this means its the best thing to slap in the kick panels. focal has several price points in their lineup, but if you get some, make sure you get the ones with the dispersion cone.
i'm still researching on amps, so no help there. i was looking at alpine's v12 series though. also, jl audio supposedly has some fantastic amps.
