need help: stock audio head unit

do any of you know what these two wires are for?
i'm guessing they have something to do with the center speakers but i'm not sure.

I get the thought that those are your antenna leads. Mazda has two antennas, one is the motorized version in the back, and another is integrated into the windshield.

ok, we ripped them out of the head unit when we tore the stocker out of my friend's FD... that wire is the connection for the antenna signal, so we were quite worried, because without that, you can't listen to the radio.

well, we went over to the local AudioWorks car audio store, and asked one of the guys. he was a very cool guy and told us that Mazda for some reason uses those weird hook-ups in the back of their head units. but don't worry about it... after you get the stock head unit out, if you follow that cable back into the dash, it goes down to the right hand side of the center console, down where the passenger's left foot would be... down there that wire is connected into a normal antenna connection, which is like a male/female socket kind of thing. it's a little hard to get to if you have fat hands, but it's not very difficult. just unplug the wire that came from the stock headunit, and what you need to do is get an extension for that wire that will then connect to any aftermarket head unit antenna connection. they should be able to get it for you easily, they actually had one in stock at the AudioWorks we went to.

if you have any more questions, please feel free to PM me, it's 3:30am and i might be making little to no sense
