Need advice on do-it-yourself bodywork

Ok guys, I'm poor, my car looks like ****, and I want/need to do some body work myself. I'm not talking dent removal but more like paint/clearcoat work.

I have to remove clearcoat, sand down small rust spots, and remove oxidation.

Any suggestions on sandpaper types, grits, sanding methods, repainting, reclearcoating, removing pinstriping, removing oxidation, colormatching, and fixing minor rust would be very helpful.

I will say thank you in advance to anyone with their two cents on my project.

use some fine wet/dry sandpaper... if your going to primer the car first then don't go cheap use some nice car primer. i do only one piece at a time, such as one fender, then like the hood.. ans so on....the pin-stripe can be removed by heat (like a blow dryer). and that's about it have fun with the project .
